Working in Washougal
Washougal sits just past Camas on SR 14, where the county meets the Columbia River Gorge. In town there is an older core near downtown and newer subdivisions on the hillsides. North of town, homes spread out along the Washougal River and into the hills.
Being at the edge of the county shows up in the electrical work. Rural services are longer, more properties have a well or a shop, and wind coming through the Gorge can take the power out. Backup power is a practical question here.

Homes and buildings
What Washougal properties tend to need
Older homes near downtown Washougal share the usual old-house list: a panel that has run out of spaces, ungrounded outlets, and circuits carrying more than they were designed for.
For a rural property, a portable generator with an inlet and interlock covers the essentials at a fraction of the cost of a standby system. The inlet goes outside, the interlock goes on the panel, and you choose which circuits to run. If there’s a well, the pump is on that list.
From a customer
Ed is very responsive and thorough with his electrical work. He goes into the tough small spaces to fix our outlets and he also does a quick inspection to make sure our wiring is fine.
